Privacy and cookies

The short version
You can read this site without an account or a form. It sets one small cookie to remember your privacy choice. Google Analytics stays off unless you click Allow analytics, and it is never used for advertising. The web host keeps standard server logs. If you email me, book time or request the job hunt kit, I use what you send only to reply. I don't sell personal information.

When you visit
The site is hosted by IONOS. Like any web host, IONOS receives technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, which can include your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, the referring page, and your browser and device type. These logs are used to run the site, fix problems and prevent abuse. IONOS keeps these logs for a limited period under its own retention policy.
The site's typeface and images are served from this site's own host. No third party is contacted when you browse, unless you allow analytics.
Analytics, only if you allow it
When you first visit, a banner asks whether to allow analytics. Nothing loads from Google Analytics until you choose Allow analytics. If you allow it, Google Analytics 4 records which pages you view, how you arrived, your browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. I use this only to see which pages are useful and to improve the site.
Analytics on this site isn't used for advertising: Google signals is turned off, the property isn't linked to Google Ads, and analytics data is kept for 14 months. You can change your choice at any time with Privacy choices at the bottom of every page. Choosing Reject stops analytics and removes its cookies.

The site uses no advertising pixels, social widgets, embedded video or chat tools. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
When you contact me
The site has no forms. You reach me through links that leave this site, and each service handles your information under its own privacy terms:
- Email. Buttons such as "Request the kit" and "Email instead" open a draft in your own email app. Nothing is sent until you send it. I receive your email address and whatever you write, and I use it to reply, send what you asked for, and keep a record of our conversation.
- Booking a meeting. "Book 30 minutes" opens Microsoft Bookings, run by Microsoft. Bookings collects the details it asks for, such as your name, email address and chosen time, and shares them with me so we can meet.
- LinkedIn. LinkedIn links take you to LinkedIn, which applies its own privacy policy.
Please don't send sensitive information, such as government ID numbers, financial account details, passwords or health information.
How I use information
Only to deliver and secure the site, reply to you, send the kit or resume you request, schedule meetings you book, measure site use if you allow analytics, and meet legal obligations. I don't make automated decisions about you.

- Google (Gmail): the email account that receives messages sent to utollwi@gmail.com
- Microsoft (Bookings): meeting scheduling when you choose to book
I may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect rights and safety. I don't sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use advertising cookies.
How long I keep it
Emails and booking details are kept as long as needed to respond to you and keep a reasonable record of our professional conversation, and deleted when no longer needed. Ask me to delete yours at any time. Server log retention is set by IONOS.
Browser privacy signals
This site doesn't sell or share personal information for advertising, so Global Privacy Control has nothing to opt you out of. Analytics runs only if you click Allow, whatever your browser signals.
Your choices
You can ask whether I hold information about you, and ask me to correct or delete it, by emailing utollwi@gmail.com from the address involved. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. No website or email system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
This site is for a professional audience and isn't directed to children under 16. I don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
I'll update this page before the site's data practices change and revise the date above.
